Altered Journal

I made these for my son’s teachers for teacher appreciation week – they loved them! And they are so easy and look so nice.
Start with a composition notebook and pick your paper. Measure the length and width of the notebook and cut paper accordingly and cut a middle piece at least 4 inches wide to cover seams. Use modge podge to glue down – I started with the front cover, then back cover and finished it with the middle piece. Once it dries, trim corners to a rounded edge – I just used small scissors. TIP – be careful not to get modge podge on journal pages – they will stick together and don’t come apart easily!
For the glittery letter – I used heat and stick powder from Stampin’ Up – AWESOME stuff! I cut out a letter using platinum schoolbook cricut cartridge on craft paper from Stampin’ Up. If you don’t have craft paper – make sure whatever paper you use is a little thicker than normal paper (what that means exactly, well – I am not sure!!)
Use verse mark ink pad and cover letter LIBERALLY

Put letter in tray and cover with heat and stick powder (don’t worry about wasting it, you will dump the remainder back in bottle)

Use heat gun (mine is from Stampin’ Up) to melt heat and stick powder - once all the white powder turns glossy - you are ready to apply the glitter.

Shake off excess glitter and use heat gun again to really set in place.
Use sticky strip on the back and apply to journal!
